REFER to the Public Protection Committee the matter of visitation and communication with inmates residing in
County adult detention facilities.
FISCAL IMPACT:
No fiscal impact.
BACKGROUND:
The County has several policies regarding communication and visitation with inmates residing in adult detention
facilities. The this referral would enable the Public Protection Committee to review these issues as a policy matter
including any contracts or programs in place to enact those policies. This would include, but is not limited to,
contracts with third-party communication service providers and programming provided by County Inmate Welfare
Fund.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
This matter will not be referred to the Committee for review and discussion.
CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:
No impact.
