APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the District Attorney, or designee, to execute an unpaid student training agreement
with Saint Mary's College of California to provide Student Community Engagement in the Victim/Witness Unit for
Saint Mary's cross-cultural psychology students, for the period July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2014.
FISCAL IMPACT:
No fiscal impact.
BACKGROUND:
The purpose of this agreement is to provide Saint Mary's College students with the opportunity to integrate academic
knowledge with applied skills and promote best practices that lead to quality experiences for students. This
supervised experience for students is considered an integral part of both the educational and professional preparation,
while at the same time, taking advantage of the students' services to victims and witnesses of crimes.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
The Agreement would not be approved and the department would not be able to receive services from these students.
