Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract
Amendment Agreement #74-429-3 with Roobal Sekhon, M.D., to amend Contract #74-429-2, effective June 1, 2013,
to increase the total Payment Limit by $50,000 from $204,720 to a new total payment limit of $254,720 with no
change in the original term of August 1, 2012 through July 31, 2013.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This amendment is funded 69% by Mental Health Realignment and 31% Enterprise Fund I. Cost to the County
depends upon utilization. As appropriate, patients and/or third party payors will be billed for services. No increase in
rates.
BACKGROUND:
For a number of years the County has contracted with Medical, Dental and Mental Health Specialists to provide
specialized professional services, which are not otherwise available.
On September 11, 2012 the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #74-429-2 with Roobal Sekhon, M.D. to
provide geriatric psychiatric services including sleep studies and continuous positive airway pressure clinic for

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
and persistently mentally ill older adults at the County’s Adult Mental Health Clinics, for the period from August 1,
2012 through July 31, 2013.
Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #74-429-3 will allow the Contractor to provide additional sleep sutides
for patients at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers, through July 31, 2013.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this contract is not approved, County’s clients will not have access to Contractor’s additional professional
outpatient psychiatric services, thereby reducing overall levels of services to the community.
