APPROVE a lease with M. Gayle Scott, for a one-year term, commencing June 1, 2013 and ending May 31, 2014,
for approximately 2,900 square feet of office space located at 315 East Leland Road, Pittsburg, at a rent of $2,900 per
month, for continued occupancy by the District 5 Supervisor, under the terms and conditions set forth in the lease.
AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director, or designee, to execute the lease on behalf of the County, and to exercise
any options to extend the lease.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This lease will obligate the County to pay rent of approximately $34,800 over the one-year term of the lease. The new
rent represents a decrease from the previous annual rent in the amount of $11,340, or approximately 25%.
BACKGROUND:
Since March 1997, this location has served as a district office for the County’s District 5 Supervisor. The District

5 Supervisor has decided that this office will continue to serve as office space for his district and has requested that
the County extend the lease for one year.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If the lease is not approved, the District 5 Supervisor will not have an office in this area of his district.
