HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 07162013 - C.35RECOMMENDATION(S): ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution No. 21337 to add six (6) 40/40 Certified Medical Assistant (VTWC) at salary level QB5-1088 ($ 3,051.44 - $ 3,709.04); one (1) 24/40, two (2) 32/40, and seven (7) 40/40 Licensed Vocational Nurse (VT7G) at salary level QBX-1287 ($ 3,706.39 - $ 4,733.21); one (1) 40/40, two (2) 32/40 and one (1) 24/40 Registered Nurse – Experienced Level (VWXD) at salary level L3H-0400 ($ 7,197.63 - $ 8,022.34); and one (1) 40/40 Registered Nurse – Advanced (VWXE) at salary level L32-1878 ($ 8,562.32 - $ 8,776.38) permanent full-time and part-time positions in the Health Services Department (Represented). FISCAL IMPACT: Upon approval, this action will result in an annual cost of approximately $1,873,442.32, including pension costs of $427,055.41, and will be fully funded by the Affordable Care Act / Federally Qualified Health Care fee offset funds and administered by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). Approximately 432 weekly clinic hours or 1080 weekly ambulatory care visits are anticipated (72 Family Medicine Clinics per week and 36 Group Clinics per week). Based on current Ambulatory Care standards, these additional clinic visits will demand a total Nursing staff of 6 FTE Certified Medical Assistants, 9.6 FTE Licensed Vocational Nurses, 1 FTE Advanced Level Registered Nurse and 3.2 FTE Experienced Level Registered Nurse. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this action is not approved and without additional staffing, current staff at our Concord facility will not be able to support the additional 432 weekly clinic hours or approximately 1080 weekly ambulatory care visits. The Concord Heath Center will not have adequate staff to provide primary medical care, mental health, substance abuse treatment and oral health care services.
