(JWXD) at salary level 3RX 1156 ($3255 -$4157) (Represented) to Health Services Appointment System
Coordinator at salary level K65 1452 ($4375 - $5318) (Represented); Add one Clerk Specialist position; and Cancel
vacant Appointment System Coordinator Position #13750 in the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center Ambulatory
Care Administration Unit and its Health Centers in the Health Services Department.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This action is fully offset with a subsequent personnel action to cancel a vacant Health Services Appointment System
position.
BACKGROUND:
As a result of an employee’s resignation, Ms. Martinez assumed higher-level duties and was on an acting capacity as
an Administrative Analyst in 2009. However, after review of the job duties, the Department found that the higher
level duties and responsibilities are more within the scope of Health Services Appointment System Coordinator
classification. Duties include developing standardized profiles for scheduling appointments; evaluating, tracking and
processing

Subject:Reclassify one Clerk-Specialist Level position to Health Services Appointment System Coordinator in the Health
Services Department
BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
of medical provider/department template/schedule changes requests for all Ambulatory Care health centers,
assisting in testing Epic system application upgrades, preparing and evaluating monthly statistical reports on
patient show-rates and medical provider productivity; troubleshooting issues with Epic Cadence Scheduling
System; and acting as the primary liaison between Appointment Uni and Ambulatory Care Administration. Ms.
Martinez has been on a temporary upgrade as a Health Services Appointment System Coordinator since 2009.
On November 19, 2012, during a meet and confer with AFSCME Local 512 regarding the job specification
revision, Ms. Martinez’ TU and her potential promotion was discussed. It is necessary to reclassify the position to
appropriately classify and compensate Ms. Martinez. A position description questionnaire and application are
attached.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this action is not approved, the incumbent will not be appropriately classifed and compensated.
