HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 07092013 - C.02 (2)RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Chair Board of Supervisors to execute an Agreement among Contra Costa County (County), the State of California (Caltrans), the City of San Pablo (City), and the Contra Costa Transportation Authority (CCTA) for the Exercise of the Power of Eminent Domain for the I-80/San Pablo Dam Road Interchange Improvement Project, as recommended by the Public Works Director. FISCAL IMPACT: Under the Agreement, CCTA will pay the County for the actual costs of Real Estate staff's right-of-way services. BACKGROUND: The project that is the subject of the Cooperative Agreement consists of reconstruction of the I-80/San Pablo Dam Road Interchange, relocation of the El Portal Drive Interchange on-ramp, adding an auxiliary lane between the relocated El Portal Drive on-ramp and the San Pablo Dam Road off-ramp, and construction of a frontage road between San Pablo Dam Road and McBryde APPROVE OTHER RECOMMENDATION OF CNTY ADMINISTRATOR RECOMMENDATION OF BOARD COMMITTEE Action of Board On: 07/16/2013 APPROVED AS RECOMMENDED OTHER Clerks Notes: VOTE OF SUPERVISORS AYE:John Gioia, District I Supervisor Candace Andersen, District II Supervisor Mary N. It also consists of reconstruction of the Riverside Avenue pedestrian/bicycle overcrossing to extend over Amador Street, providing improved pedestrian access to Riverside Elementary School and providing improved pedestrian and bicycle facilities within the I-80/San Pablo Dam Road Interchange, together with the acquisition of land necessary for said project. On June 25, 2013, the County adopted the Mitigated Negative Declaration for the interchange project. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If the Board does not approve this agreement, acquisition of the subject properties and completion of the project is likely to be prolonged.
