HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 07092013 - C.64RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee, on behalf of the Workforce Development Board of Contra Costa County, to execute a contract with Green Visions: Center for Renewable Energy in an amount not to exceed $144,000, to provide project management and workforce development services for the period July 1, 2013 throught June 30, 2014. FISCAL IMPACT: $144,000, 100% Federal; Advanced Manufacturing Jobs and Innovation Accelerator Challenge (AMJIAC) Grant. BACKGROUND: Contra Costa County is contracting with Green Visions: Center for Renewable Energy to continue providing project management services to implement the strategies and activities designed to support, strengthen, and expand existing cluster-based partnerships, to foster advanced manufacturing-related growth, and accelerate high-quality job creation. This contract was awarded in December of 2012 through the competitive bid process, Request For Interest #497. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: Job seekers will have less opportunities for employment in the medical device and bioscience manufacturing industry.
