APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee, to execute a contract with
the Pittsburg Power Company, in an amount not to exceed $200,000, to provide case management and job placement
services to eligible adult participants for the period July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2014.
FISCAL IMPACT:
$200,000; 100% Federal Workforce Investment Act (WIA) Adult Funding
BACKGROUND:
This Board Order will authorize the Employment and Human Services Department, on behalf of the Workforce
Development Board, to contract with the Pittsburg Power Company for the provision of comprehensive Workforce
Investment Act (WIA) services to eligible adults in East Contra Costa County (defined as the region from Bay Point
to the eastern boundary of the county) as competitively bid in Request for Interest (RFI) #470 in February 2012.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this contract is not approved adult participants will not receive case management, employment referrals, and job
placement services.
