Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract
Amendment Agreement #22-219-52 with Compass Group USA, Inc., a corporation, effective June 1, 2013, to amend
Contract #22-219-51, to increase the payment limit by $19,125, from $2,283,814 to a new payment limit of
$2,302,939, with no change in the original term of July 1, 2012 through June 30, 2013, with no increase in the
automatic extension payment limit of $570,705 and no change in the term of the automatic extension, through
September 30, 2013.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This amendment is 100% federally funded, through the State, under Title III C 1 and Title III C 2 of the Federal
Older Americans Act of 1965. (No rate increase)
BACKGROUND:
This Contract meets the social needs of County’s population in that it requires Contractor to provide bulk,
prepackaged, sodium restricted, and prepackaged frozen meals, on 249 County-designated serving days, for elderly,
handicapped, and AIDS/HIV diagnosed citizens

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
of Contra Costa County.
On June 26, 2012, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #22-219-51 with Compass Group USA, Inc. for the
period from July 1, 2012 through June 30, 2013, which included a six-month automatic extension through September
30, 2013, for the provision of meal services for County’s Senior Nutrition Program.
Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #22-219-52 will allow the Contractor to provide additional meal
delivery services through June 30, 2013.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this amendment is not approved, elderly, handicapped, and HIV/AIDS diagnosed citizens participating in the Senior
Nutrition Program may not receive appropriate meals or nutrition through the remainder of the term of this Contract.
