HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 06252013 - C.122RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #74-438-3 with Vasanta Venkat Giri, M.D., a self-employed individual, effective April 1, 2013, to amend Contract #74-438-2, to increase the payment limit by $111,760, from $77,600 to a new payment limit of $189,360, with no change in the original term of February 1, 2013 through January 31, 2014. FISCAL IMPACT: This amendment is funded by 22% State Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) and 78% County Early and Periodic Screening Diagnosis and Treatment (EPSDT) Realignment. Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #74-438-3 will allow the Contractor to provide additional hours of professional psychiatric services through January 31, 2014. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this amendment is not approved, County’s clients will not have access to Contractor’s professional psychiatric services, reducing overall levels of service to the community. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: This program supports the following Board of Supervisors’ community outcomes: “Children Ready For and Succeeding in School”; “Families that are Safe, Stable, and Nurturing”; and “Communities that are Safe and Provide a High Quality of Life for Children and Families”. Expected program outcomes include an increase in positive social and emotional development as measured by the Child and Adolescent Functional Assessment Scale (CAFAS).
