HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 06252013 - C.118RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #24-911 with Community Violence Solutions, a non-profit corporation, in an amount not to exceed $187,500, to provide mental health services to children who are victims of physical and sexual abuse for the period from April 1, 2013 through June 30, 2014. This Contract includes a six-month automatic extension through December 31, 2014, in an amount not to exceed $75,000. FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded 50% by County Mental Health Realignment and 50% by Federal Financial Participation as offset by third-party billing. BACKGROUND: This Contract meets the social needs of County’s population by providing specialty mental health services to severely emotionally disturbed children within Contra Costa County who have been the victims of physical and sexual abuse. Under Contract #24-911, Contractor will provide mental health services to children at its facility located at 3755 Alhambra Avenue in Martinez through June 30, 2014. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: This program supports the following Board of Supervisors’ community outcomes: “Children Ready For and Succeeding in School”; “Families that are Safe, Stable, and Nurturing”; and “Communities that are Safe and Provide a High Quality of Life for Children and Families”. Expected program outcomes include an increase in positive social and emotional development as measured by the Child and Adolescent Functional Assessment Scale (CAFAS).
