Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract
#74–441-1 with Matthew Littlefield, M.D., a self-employed individual, in an amount not to exceed $274,400 to
provide professional outpatient psychiatric services, for the period from July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2014.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Contract is funded 100% by Mental Health Realignment, offset by third-party billing. (No rate increase)
BACKGROUND:
On May 15, 2012, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #74-441 with Matthew Littlefield, M.D., for the
period July 1, 2012 through June 30, 2013 for the provision of professional outpatient psychiatric services.
Approval of Contract #74-441-1 will allow the Contractor to continue to provide professional outpatient psychiatric
services to mentally ill adults in East County areas, through June 30, 2014.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this contract is not approved, County’s clients will not have access to Contractor’s professional outpatient
psychiatric services reducing overall levels of service to the community.
