APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent, on behalf of the Public Works Director, to execute a purchase
order with WW Grainger Co., in an amount not to exceed $160,000, for miscellaneous parts, small tools and
supplies, for the period August 1, 2013 through July 31, 2014.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This cost is to be funded through Facilities Management's Fiscal Year 13/14 budget. (100% General Fund)
BACKGROUND:
WW Grainger Co. provides thousands of facilities maintenance parts, supplies, tools and equipment available to us in
a next-day format. Grainger has been awarded a contract through the Western States Contracting Alliance (WSCA
contract #1824) which allows us to utilize them for purchases of parts, supplies, tools and small equipment. Utilizing
such a government contract guarantees us fair pricing and exceptional service. Last year the County ran short of
money on this order at $115,000. This year the cost is expected to be a bit higher.
