HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 06252013 - C.73RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Agricultural Commissioner- Director of Weights and Measures, or designee, to execute a contract with the University of California Cooperative Extension Service Contract, in an amount not to exceed $15,500, with modified indemnification language, for increased Master Gardner Coordinator services, for a term June 1, 2013 through June 30, 2014. FISCAL IMPACT: 100% County BACKGROUND: Under the general direction of the Contra Costa County Director of the University of California Cooperative Extension Service, the Urban Horticulture Program Representative is responsible for all aspects of the coordination of the Master Gardener Program and over 200 volunteers within the county, including managing the program budget, volunteer training and scheduling as well as providing oversight of public outreach efforts within the county. The Program Representative is responsible for keeping abreast of current research in all relevant areas.
