Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract
#26-347-21 with Cross Country Staffing, Inc., a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $250,000, to provide
temporary nursing, therapy, radiology and pharmacy services for Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra
Costa Health Centers, for the period from May 1, 2013 through April 30, 2014.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Contract is funded 100% by Enterprise I Funds. (No rate increase)
BACKGROUND:
On June 5, 2012, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-347-20 with Cross Country Staffing, Inc., for the
period from May 1, 2012 through April 30, 2013, for the provision of temporary nursing, therapy, radiology and
pharmacy services for Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers.
Approval of Contract #26-347-21 will allow Contractor to continue providing temporary services through April 30,
2014.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this contract is not approved, Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers would not
have appropriate medical coverage during temporary staff absences, therefore patients would go untreated.
