HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 06042013 - C.69RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #26-975-10 with Mark Van Handel, M.D., a self-employed individual, effective March 1, 2013, to amend Contract #26-975-9, to increase the payment limit by $120,000, from $1,140,000 to a new payment limit of $1,260,000, with no change in the original term of June 1, 2012 through May 31, 2015. FISCAL IMPACT: This amendment is funded 100% by Enterprise I Fund. Boyd, Deputy cc: D Gary, K Cyr C. 69 To:Board of Supervisors From:William Walker, M.D., Health Services Director Date:June 4, 2013 Contra Costa County Subject:Amendment #26-975-10 with Mark Van Handel, M.D. BACKGROUND: (CONT'D) with Mark Van Handel, M.D. for the period from June 1, 2012 through May 31, 2015 for the provision of neurology services including clinical coverage, consultation, training, on call medical and/or surgical procedures for patients at Contra Costa Regional Medical and Contra Costa Health Centers. Due to an increase in Dr. Van Handel’s current clinic volume, utilization exceeded his payment limit for the first year of his three year contract. Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #26-975-10 will allow the Contractor to provide additional neurology services through May 31, 2015. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this amendment is not approved, Contractor will not be paid for additional services provided at Contra Costa Regional Medical and Contra Costa Health Centers. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: NOT APPLICABLE
