Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute on behalf of the County, Agreement
#28-845 (VA261-13-P-1366), with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Northern California Health Care System
(VANCHCS), in an amount not to exceed $3,500, for norovirus testing by the Health Services Department’s Public
Health laboratory, for the period from April 1, 2013 through September 30, 2013.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Grant Agreement will result in VANCHCS paying the County $100 per test, in an amount not to exceed $3,500,
for the Norovirus Testing Project.
BACKGROUND:
Under this Grant Agreement #28-845, the County will receive funding to provide norovirus testing services for
VANCHS patients through September 30, 2013, including agreeing to indemnify and hold harmless grantor for any
claims arising out of the performance of this agreement.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this contract is not approved, Health Services Department’s Public Health laboratory will not be able to provide
norovirus services for VANCHCS patients.
