HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 06042013 - C.40RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Agricultural Commissioner, or his designee, to execute contract with the California Department of Food and Agriculture, for the Petroleum Product Program. This agreement will reimburse the County, in an amount not to exceed $14,550 and is effective July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2014. FISCAL IMPACT: This agreement reimburses the county in an amount not to exceed $14,550 (100% State) BACKGROUND: Gasoline service stations and others selling petroleum products are required by state law to meet advertising and signage requirements. Service stations are also required to provide water and air free of charge to customers and to provide handicap service to customers with some exception. This agreement will reimburse the Department for work done that involves enforcement of these laws. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: Loss of funding for the department for enforcing state laws.
