Subject:Library Lease and Service Agreement for 4703 Lone Tree Way, Antioch
BACKGROUND:
In 2011, the City of Antioch built the Antioch Community Center where they included space for the County to
operate the Antioch – Prewett Library. In exchange for the use of the Library premises, the County will perform
library services and related activities at the Library during each term. The City will pay for and provide all
maintenance, utilities, and janitorial services to the Library. No rent is due or payable from the County. The Library
Lease and Service Agreement provides that the term will automatically renew on a yearly basis unless written notice
is given by either party of their intent to terminate the Lease at least one year in advance. As a condition of the lease,
the City and County requires mutual indemnity.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Failure to approve the Library Lease and Service Agreement may reduce library services in the City of Antioch.
CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:
Not applicable.
