Major and AUTHORIZE payment from the Workers' Compensation Internal Service Fund in an amount not to exceed $100,000 less permanent disability advances. FISCAL IMPACT: Workers' Compensation Internal Service Fund payment of $100,000 less permanent disability advances. BACKGROUND: Attorney Mark A. Cartier, defense counsel for the County, has advised the County Administrator that within authorization an agreement has been reached settling the workers' compensation claim of Teri L. Major v. Contra Costa County Pobation Department. The Board's May 14, 2013 closed session vote was: Supervisors Gioia, Andersen, Piepho, Mitchoff and Glover – Yes. This action is taken so that the terms of this final settlement and the earlier May 14, 2013 closed session vote of this Board authorizing its negotiated settlement are known publicly. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: Case will not be settled.
