HSD had determined that the medical center in Richmond was outdated and the cost to retro-fit it for continued occupancy was not economically feasible. The HSD has recently relocated most medical services from the old building to the new West County Health Center in San Pablo. There currently is no available space at the new Health Center for Public Health Nursing nor could available space be found in the City of San Pablo.
