Adopt Position Adjustment Resolution No. 21290 to add one (1) Personnel Technician position (AP7B) at salary
level B85-1308 ($3794 - $4611) and cancel vacant Clerical Supervisor position #7926 (JWHF) at salary level
K6X-1290 ($3717-$4747) in the Health Services Department. (Represented)
FISCAL IMPACT:
Upon approval, this action has an annual cost savings of approximately $2,392.
BACKGROUND:
In 2012, the Health Services Department was granted delegated authority to conduct recruitments and examinations.
In the past twelve months, approximately 6,000 applications were processed. Due to the expanded recruitment and
examination services, the Department is requesting to add a Personnel Technician position to assist Analysts in
performing technical and administrative assignments in the admnistration of recruitment and examinations. Typical
tasks include maintaining and overseeing Neogov system tables and notice templates, processing applications in all
phases of the examinations steps to create eligible lists and implement certifications and referrals;

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
assisting in constructing written examination and interview questions, supplemental questionnaires, and job
bulletins; screening of applications to determine if applicant meets minimum requirements; coordinating the oral
board interviews and processing personnel transactions to assure timeliness and accuracy.
The Clerical Supervisor position is vacant due to the incumbent's retirement. The Department has determined that
a Clerical Supervisor is no longer necessary and a Personnel Technician will better serve its needs. This
personnel action will result an annual savings of approximately $2392.00
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this action is not approved, the Department will not have sufficient staff to effectively conduct recruitments and
examinations.
