HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 05072013 - C.71RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Purchasing Agent, on behalf of the Health Services Department, to execute a change order to existing Purchase Order #42828 with Accredo Health Group, Inc. to add $51,000, for a new total of $150,000, for supplies required for surgery patients with bleeding deficiencies at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Clinics (CCRMC), for the period from August 1, 2012 through July 31, 2013. FISCAL IMPACT: 100% Enterprise Fund I. BACKGROUND: Accerdo Health Group, Inc. provides Humate P-Drug with Factor VII is specific in replacement therapy. This is vitally needed to prevent the patient from bleeding due to a procedure or surgery. The factor in the product replaces and increases the patient’s own factor level. This stabilizes the hemostasis and assures that the patient will not lose too much blood. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this Purchase Order is not approved CCRMC will not be able to purchase the supplies needed for patients with bleeding deficiencies, thus affecting patient care.
