Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract
#26-374-16 with STAT Nursing Services, Inc., a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $260,000, to provide
temporary nursing, psychiatric technician and operating room technician staffing for Contra Costa Regional Medical
Center and Contra Costa Health Centers, for the period from April 1, 2013 through March 31, 2014.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Contract is funded 100% by the Enterprise Fund I. (Rate increase).
BACKGROUND:
For several years the County has contracted with nursing registries to provide temporary personnel to assist Contra
Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers during peak loads, temporary absences and
emergency situations in critical areas.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
April 17, 2012, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26–374–15 with STAT Nursing Services, Inc. for the
period from April 1, 2012 through March 31, 2013, for the provision of temporary staffing services, including Sexual
Assault Nurse Examiners, Registered Nurses, Licensed Vocational Nurses, psychiatric technicians, and operating
room technicians.
Approval of Contract #26–374–16 will allow the Contractor to continue providing these services through March 31,
2014.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this contract is not approved, Contra Costa Regional Medical and Contra Costa Health Centers may not have
appropriate shift coverage during temporary staff absences therefore, patients may go untreated, or may experience
longer wait times.
