Approve and authorize the Purchasing Agent, on behalf of the Health Services Department, to execute a change order

$26,500,000, for medical items, supplies and equipment for Contra Costa Health Medical Center and Contra Costa
Health Centers (CCRMC), for the period from October 1, 2010 through September 30, 2013.
FISCAL IMPACT:
100% Enterprise Fund I.
BACKGROUND:
Professional Hospital Supply, Inc (PHS) is the main supplier of medical items, supplies, and equipment to CCRMC.
PHS, which is a Novation vendor, also supplies and changes out the carts at CCRMC on a daily basis, and its
representative has provided personal service to CCRMC for many years. The Health Services Department utilized
PHS heavily in 2012 when outfitting the new West County Health Center, and will be using it this year to supply the
expanded Concord Clinic. PHS’s status as a Novation vendor enables it to provide CCRMC with discounted prices.
