Subject:APPROVE conveyance of various fire station sites to Contra Costa County Fire Protection District
BACKGROUND:
In 1964, the Central Fire Protection District and the Mt. Diablo Fire Protection District merged to form the Contra
Costa County Fire Protection District (District) under Board of Supervisor’s Resolution No. 3627.
Effective July 1, 1994, the Riverview Fire District, West County Fire District, Oakley Fire District, and Pinole Fire
Districts were dissolved and annexed into the District under Resolution No. 94/320, dated June 28, 1994.
Prior to the merger and/or dissolution of the above mentioned fire districts, several fire stations were conveyed by
Deed to Contra Costa County. The District is requesting that those fire stations previously conveyed to the County
be transferred to the District.
This is a conveyance of title only, the use and operation of the property will remain the same.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Without approval from the Board of Supervisors, title of the fire stations will not be in the name of the appropriate
jurisdiction.
