HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 04162013 - C.37RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #26-700-2 with Jaison James, M.D., Inc., a professional corporation, effective March 1, 2013, to amend Contract #26-700 (as amended by Amendment #26-700-1), to increase the payment limit by $300,000 from $1,350,000 to a new payment limit of $1,650,000, with no change in the original term of August 1, 2011 through July 31, 2014. FISCAL IMPACT: This amendment is funded 100% by Enterprise Fund I. (No rate increase) BACKGROUND: On August 16, 2011, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-700 (as amended by Amendment Agreement #26-700-1) with Jaison James, M.D., Inc., for the period from August 1, 2011 through July 31, 2014, for the provision of orthopedic services including consultation, training, on-call services and medical and/or surgical procedures. BACKGROUND: (CONT'D) Contractor to provide additional orthopedic services due to the departure of another orthopedic surgeon at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers, through July 31, 2014. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this amendment is not approved, Contractor will not be able to continue providing orthopedic services and patients will have longer wait times and possibly go untreated.
