Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract
Amendment Agreement #26-536-9 with Jeffrey L. Stern, M.D., APC, a professional corporation, effective March 1,
2013, to amend Contract #26-536-7 (as amended by #26-536-8), to increase the payment limit by $103,000, from
$264,000 to a new payment limit of $367,000 with no change in the original term of October 1, 2011 through
September 30, 2014.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This amendment is funded 100% by Enterprise Fund I. (No rate increase)
BACKGROUND:
On September 20, 2011, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-536-7 (as amended by Contract
Amendment Agreement #26-536-8) with Jeffrey L. Stern, M.D., APC, for the period from October 1, 2011 through
September 30, 2014, for the provision of Gynecology/Oncology services at Contra Costa Medical Regional Medical
Center.
This payment limit increase is due to a greater volume of Gynecology/Oncology

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this amendment is not approved, services at Contra Costa Medical Regional Medical Center will be reduced for
clients requiring Gynecology/Oncology surgery services.
