Approve and authorize the Purchasing Agent, on behalf of the Health Services Department, to execute a purchase
order with Zebra Technologies International LLC in the amount of $400,000, for patient labeling and wristband
sheets for Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers (CCRMC), for the period from
June 5, 2013 through June 4, 2015.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Enterprise Fund I.
BACKGROUND:
Zebra Technologies International LLC provides labels and wristbands used to identify patients at CCRMC. This is
essential to patient identification and safety. Zebra Technologies International LLC is a Novation Purchasing vendor,
thus ensuring that the County has secured the best prices for these products.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this Purchase Order is not approved, the risk of misidentifying patients would increase, which could cause harm
to patients.
