HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 04162013 - C.30RECOMMENDATION(S): Adopt Position Adjustment Resolution No. 21272 to add one (1) Family Nurse Practitioner (VWSB) position, at salary level L35 1873 ($8,269.88 - $10,052.10), in the Health Services Department. FISCAL IMPACT: Upon approval, this action will result in an annual cost of approximately $190,453, including pension costs of $42,822, and will be offset by member premiums. BACKGROUND: With the influx of new Seniors and Persons with Disabilities members, Health Services Department Contra Costa Health Plan (CCHP) has experienced a tremendous increase in need for Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) placement of members post hospitalization. CCHP has approximately 45-50 members in a SNF on a daily basis. Since the SNFs are not appropriately staffed with licensed medical providers, members are transferred back to acute care, usually within 30 days, for physical examinations and issues regarding their chronic illnesses. Hiring a Family Nurse Practitioner will help reduce the risk of readmission APPROVE OTHER RECOMMENDATION OF CNTY ADMINISTRATOR RECOMMENDATION OF BOARD COMMITTEE Action of Board On: 04/16/2013 APPROVED AS RECOMMENDED OTHER Clerks Notes: VOTE OF SUPERVISORS AYE:John Gioia, District I Supervisor Candace Andersen, District II Supervisor Mary N.
