HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 04162013 - C.28RECOMMENDATION(S): ADOPT Position Adjustment Request No. 21259 to cancel four (4) full-time Account Clerk-Experienced Level (JDVC) (represented) vacant positions numbers 6533, 6545, 10782, and 11534 at salary level 3RH 0755 ($2865 - $3552); and add four (4) full-time Child Support Assistant (J9VA)(represented) positions at salary level 3RX 1033 ($2,882 - $3,680) in the Department of Child Support Services. FISCAL IMPACT: This action will result in an annual net cost of $1,104, which will be offset by existing vacant, funded positions. The Department of Child Support Services is 66% federally funded and 34% state funded. This action is a zero cost to the County General Fund. Net cost of Retirement: $288 or 26% of total cost BACKGROUND: The Department has recently evaluated the staffing and has determined that there is no current need for additional financial staff. The Child Support Assistant position has a much broader scope and can be utlilized for many different work assignments. Creating the Child Support Assistant positions will allow the Department greater flexibility to assign work to the appropriate level of staff. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this action were not approved, the Department would remain limited in its ability to assign work to the appropriate level of staff.
