ATTESTED: April 9, 2013 David J. Twa, BY:June McHuen , Deputy RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Purchasing Agent, on behalf of the Health Services Department, to execute a Purchase Order with Beckman Coulter, Inc. in the amount of $717,667 for the rental of immunoassay analyzers and supplies and reagents for the Clinical Laboratory at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers (CCRMC), for the period from May 15, 2013 through May 14, 2019. FISCAL IMPACT: 100% Enterprise Fund I. BACKGROUND: The Clinical Laboratory at Contra Costa Regional needs to rent immunoassay analyzers. It also needs to purchase Remisol middleware, supplies, and reagents for the analyzers. The Health Services Department uses the analyzers to perform various chemistry tests for patients of CCRMC. The current analyzers werepurchased back in 2006 and are now past their useful life. The new equipment will allow the Department to use current technology and cut down on false test results, leading to less manual intervention. Search Options CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this Purchase Order is not approved the Clinical Laboratory will be unable to perform patient testing, thus impacting patient care.
