Through the early literacy workshops, parents will learn the skills and practices to ensure that their preschool children are prepared for and ready to succeed in school. The workshops will demonstrate to parents the nurturing experience that results from reading to and with their children. The literacy zones within each library will further encourage the development of early literacy skills which are fundamental to success in preschool and reinforce the nurturing parent/child bond through the shared experience of play and reading.
