APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment & Human Services Director, or designee, to apply for and accept
funding from First 5 Contra Costa Children and Families Commission, in an amount not to exceed $1,200,000 for
early care and education home visiting services during the term July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2014.
FISCAL IMPACT:
100% grant funding
No County match
BACKGROUND:
First 5 Contra Costa Children and Families has a funding opportunity of $1,200,000 annually for up to 5 years to
provide home visiting services to support families, promote positive parenting, nutrure strong parent-child
relationships. health development and to prevent child maltreatment.
The department plans to submit a grant application to support the Community Services Bureau Home Visiting early
care and education program. The proposal will be to provide home visiting services county-wide.
