HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 04092013 - C.60RECOMMENDATION(S): Adopt Position Adjustment Resolution No. 21267 to add one (1) Utilization Review Coordinator (VWSD) postion, at salary level ZN5 1885 ($7,122.77 - $8,657.77 ), in the Health Services Department. FISCAL IMPACT: Upon approval, this action will result in an annual cost of approximately $166,877, including pension costs of $36,882, and will be offset by Contra Costa Health Plan member premiums. BACKGROUND: Utilization Review Coordinators assigned to the Contra Costa Health Plan are responsible for utilization and case management activities such as, identifying potential or clinical quality care utilization issues; performing prospective, concurrent and retrospective inpatient and outpatient care review; performing quality assurance and improvement tasks of researching, studying, monitoring and reporting quality care issues and outcomes; and supervising subordinate authorization support staff. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this action is not approved, the Authorization and Utilization Management department of the Health Plan will not be staffed appropriately and this may impact Health Plan member patient care.
