HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 03192013 - C.70RECOMMENDATION(S):
RETITLE the County Service Area P-2B Citizens Advisory Committee to the "Alamo Police Services Advisory
Committee".
FISCAL IMPACT:
No fiscal impact.
BACKGROUND:
On September 10, 1985, the Board of Supervisors approved Resolution No. 85/537, which established Zone B within
County Service Area P-2 to provide extended police services within the Alamo area. The same resolution authorized
the creation of the "Zone B Citizens Advisory Committee."
Since inception, the Citizens Advisory Committee has provided excellent oversight and feedback to the Board of
Supervisors, through the District Supervisor, regarding local policing issues specific to the Alamo community. At a
recent meeting, the Committee voted to request that the Board of Supervisors retitle the Committee to the "Alamo
Police Services Advisory Committee" as a means of simplifying the purpose and mission of the Committee to local
residents. Today's action requests that the Board formally retitle the Committee effective immediately.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
The Committee will not be retitled.
