APPROVE Appropriations and Revenue Adjustment No. 5059 authorizing new revenue in the amount of $113,295 in
the Sheriff's Office (0277) and appropriating it for the purchase of Radio/Electronic Equipment and other safety
equipment necessary to carry out the functions of the Court Security Services unit.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This action increases revenues and expenditures by $113,295 with no change to net County cost. The new revenue is
from the Trial Court Security Fund (2980).
BACKGROUND:
The Court Security Unit is in the process of upgrading its security systems with the purchase of bullet proof glass,
security cameras, ballistic podiems, ballistic shiels and upgrades to it weapon systems in order to protect personnel
and the public.
The Contra Costa Courts handle trials and hearings of a serious nature on a daily basis. Recent violent events accross
the country are a reminder of the importance of security efforts. These upgrades are
