FISCAL IMPACT: None BACKGROUND: On June 18, 2002, the Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution No. 2002/377, which requires that each regular and ongoing board, commission, or committee shall annually report to the Board of Supervisors on its activities, accomplishments, membership attendance, required training/certification (if any), and proposed work plan or objectives for the following year, on the second Tuesday of December. The attached reports fulfill this requirement for the Alamo Municipal Advisory Council (AMAC). Chair: Michael McDonald Vice Chair: David Barclay Members: Ed Best, David Bowlby, Nancy Dommes (through May), Steve Mick, Janet Miller- Evans, Anne Struthers (November, December). Working Groups: Parks – David Barclay, Ed Best, Steve Mick. Traffic/Pedestrian Safety – David Bowlby, Janet Miller-Evans, Anne Struthers Land Use – David Barclay, David Bowlby, Michael McDonald Staff Support: Steve Dexter, Donna Maxwell Activities and Accomplishments  Reviewed and provided recommendations for a variety of land use applications in Alamo.  Reviewed and provided recommendations regarding proposed budgets for CSA R -7A, and Landscape and Lighting Zones 36, 45, and 54.  Supported and helped facilitate the incorporation of the Round Hill area into CSA R -7A.  Worked with county staff to lower costs and improve maintenance for Zone 45.  Provided oversight and recommendations regarding CSA R-7A recreational programming (music in the park, and movie nights).  Held a public meeting and provided recommendations regarding projects to be included in the County AOB/CRIPP list for the Alamo area.  Participated in the development and implementation of improvements to pedestrian safety in the vicinity of Alamo School.  Formed a working group to investigate improvements to traffic and pedestrian safety on Danville Boulevard in the downtown area.  Recommended additional parking restrictions on Danville Boulevard to improve traffic and pedestrian safety.  Through the Park Facilities Working Group, developed a list of potential new park sites in Alamo and made initial contact with property owners.  Worked with Public Works to develop conceptual plans for a new park, including bocce ball at the property on the corner of Danville Boulevard and Hemme owned by the San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District. The MAC ultimately elected not to pursue acquisition and development of the property at this time.  Worked with County Public works to refurbish the sports court at Livorna Park.  Accepted the donation of maple trees at Andrew H. Young Park from neighboring resident Andy Haas.  Heard presentations pertaining to the new fire station, the freeway off -ramp beautification project, the County’s Office of Veteran’s Affairs, the County’s Energy Efficiency Program, the County’s new Parking Ordinance, and the Adopt-A-Highway program. Work Plan and Objectives for 2013  Reach out to the Alamo community to encourage greater awareness of and involvement in MAC activities.  Monitor and make recommendations regarding proposed expenditures by CSA R-7A and the lighting and landscaping districts.  Through the downtown traffic safety working group, develop and work with appropriate county staff to implement measures to improve vehicular and pedestrian safety on Danville Boulevard, primarily in the downtown area.  Monitor the AOB/CRIPP update process underway by Public Works to ensure that the list of projects reflects the needs of Alamo.  Explore, and if approved, work with county staff to build a bocce ball court at Livorna Park.  Through the park facility working group, develop a plan of action for acquiring additional park facilities for Alamo.  Explore the feasibility of county acquisition of some or all of the Westminster Retreat property for development as a park, possibly in conjunction with another public agency.  Evaluate and develop recommendations for land-use applications that come before the MAC to ensure compliance with code requirements and consistency with the community of Alamo.
