HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 03122013 - C.70RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #24–259–53 with Center for Human Development, a non-profit corporation, in an amount not to exceed $559,044, to provide Substance Abuse Primary Prevention Program services for the period from January 1, 2013 through June 30, 2013. This Contract includes a six-month automatic extension through December 31, 2013, in an amount not to exceed $384,972. FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded 76% by Federal Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment (SAPT) Primary Prevention, and 24% by State School Improvement Grant (SIG). On September 13, 2011, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #24–259–51 (as amended by Amendment Agreement Contract #24-259-52) with Center for Human Development for the period from July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2012, including an automatic extension through December 31, 2012, for the provision of substance abuse primary prevention services. Approval of Contract #24-259-53 will allow the Contractor to continue to provide services through June 30, 2013. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this contract is not approved, County’s Clients will not receive substance abuse prevention and educational and environmental strategies for high risk youth. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: This program supports the following Board of Supervisors’ community outcomes: “Children Ready For and Succeeding in School”; “Families that are Safe, Stable, and Nurturing”; and “Communities that are Safe and Provide a High Quality of Life for Children and Families”. Expected program outcomes include an increase in positive social and emotional development as measured by the Child and Adolescent Functional Assessment Scale (CAFAS).
