HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 03122013 - C.16RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Chief Engineer, or designee, to execute a Consulting Services Agreement with Consolidated CM in an amount not to exceed $1,246,000, for construction management services for the Upper Sand Creek Basin project, for the period of March 12, 2013 through October 1, 2014, Antioch area. Project No. 7562-6D8518-10 FISCAL IMPACT: This project, including this Consulting Services Agreement, is funded by 78% Drainage Area 130 funds and 22% California Department of Water Resources Proposition 1E Grant funds. BACKGROUND: This project will consist of earthwork and grading for the basin and appurtenances, the creek low flow channel, dam construction, inlet and outlet structures, rock slope protection, maintenance access road, and a pre-fabricated bridge. The project is required to expand the flood control basin to attenuate flows from the upper Marsh Creek watershed, which will help provide flood protection for surrounding and downstream communities. BACKGROUND: (CONT'D) phase of the Upper Sand Creek Basin project. Consolidated CM was selected to provide these services after completing a request for qualifications solicitation, technical proposal, and interview process. Public Works has successfully negotiated with Consolidated CM to provide the construction management services. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: Without Board of Supervisors’ approval, this Consulting Services Agreement will not be in effect. A delay in the construction management of the Upper Sand Creek Basin project will occur, ultimately delaying the completion of the project. Project delay may also result in substantial additional project costs and jeopardize the grant funding. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: Not applicable. ATTACHMENTS CSA
