APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent, or designee, to execute a purchase order amendment with CSI
Telecommunications, Inc., on behalf of the Chief Information Officer, to increase the payment limit by $90,000 to a
new payment limit of $165,000 for Federal Communication Commission radio licensing and Microwave frequency
coordination as needed for the period of November 1, 2011 through October 31, 2013. (100% Department User
Fees).
FISCAL IMPACT:
$165,000 (100% User Fees); the whole cost is charged to the ordering agency through DoIT's billing process.
BACKGROUND:
The Department of Information Technology’s Microwave division is responsible for maintaining the County’s
microwave system, including frequency coordination and licensing.
In accordance with Administrative Bulletin No 611.0, County Departments are required to get Board approval for
single item purchases over $100,000.
The County Administrator’s Office has reviewed this request and recommends approval.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Not increasing the amount of the Purchase Order will prevent DoIT from ensuring the integrity of the County's
microwave system. Proper maintenance of the system is essential for many reasons including homeland security and
public safety.
