Approve and authorize the Purchasing Agent, on behalf of Health Services, to execute a change order to Blanket
Purchase Order #F34800 with Cook Paging, in the amount of $20,000 for a new total of $115,000 from January 7,
2011 through January, 6, 2013 and execute a new Purchase Order in the amount of $140,000 from January 7, 2013
through January 6, 2015, for pager rentals for Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Center
employees.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Total cost of $255,000 is funded by Enterprise Fund I
BACKGROUND:
Health Services rents approximately 900 pagers for staff at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa
Health Centers. It is vital that the hospital be able to contact employees. Cook Paging handles the paging services for
every agency in the County, thus enabling the County to standardize its communication needs in the event of a
disaster. Communication between agencies will be crucial if a disaster strikes Contra Costa County.
