Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract
Amendment Agreement #25-066-3 with Shelter, Inc. of Contra Costa County, a non-profit corporation, effective
December 1, 2012, to amend Contract #25-066-2, to increase the payment limit by $113,561, from $166,268 to a new
payment limit of $279,829, with no change in the original term of July 1, 2012 through June 30, 2013.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This amendment is funded 100% by Federal Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)
(No rate increase)
BACKGROUND:
This Contract meets the social needs of County’s population by providing support services to Contra Costa County
families that are homeless, including case management, benefits advocacy, employment services, job training and
education services, and short-term rental assistance.
On July 10, 2012, the Board of Supervisors approved

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
Contract #25-066-2 with Shelter, Inc. of Contra Costa County, for the period from July 1, 2012 through June 30,
2013, for the provision of supportive housing services for homeless families.
Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #25-066-3 will allow the Contractor to provide additional services
through June 30, 2013.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this amendment is not approved, homeless families in Contra Costa County will not receive the housing assistance
services provided by Contractor.
