RECEIVE and ACCEPT 2012 Annual Report submitted by the Bethel Island Municipal Advisory Council, as
recommended by Supervisor Piepho.
FISCAL IMPACT:
None.
BACKGROUND:
On June 18, 2002, the Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution No. 2002/377, which requires that each regular and
ongoing board, commission, or committee shall annually report to the Board of Supervisors on its activities,
accomplishments, membership attendance, required training/certification (if any), and proposed work plan or
objectives for the following year, on the second Tuesday of December.
The attached reports fulfill this requirement for the Bethel Island Municipal Advisory Council.

Activities and Accomplishments
The primary goal of the Bethel Island MAC was to continue to be the connection between the residents of Bethel Island with the County. We successfully scheduled monthly quest speakers who brought timely and pertinent information to the folk of our community. Presentation included the following topics: January: Former Chair Graas regarding 2011 Overview and 2012 Workplan February: East Contra Costa Fire Protection District- Cheryl Morgan March: Historical Society-Kathy Leighton April: Delta Update- John Greitzer, Dept. of Conservation and Development May: Draft Updated Parking Ordinance- Jamar Stamps, Dept. of Conservation and Development June: Update on Measure S-Chief Henderson, ECCFPD July: Emergency Medical Services, Patricia Frost, CCC EMS and Delta Update-John Greitzer, DCD August: No presentation September: No presentation October: Representatives from the SIM Bethel Project November: No presentation December: Representatives regarding the Delta Coves Development During 2012 the Bethel Island MAC activities and efforts included:
• A successful Community Clean-Up Day held on May 12, 2012. The Brentwood Disposal Company brought multiple dumpsters and the event was free of charge to Bethel Island residents.
• Continuing to work with East Contra Costa Fire Protection District promoting the sale and installation of reflective house number signs.
• Continuing to work on installation of “Dry Hydrants”
• Continuing to meet with County Code Enforcement staff to establish a list of enforcement priorities for the community.
• Contributed to a successful Safety Fair in October 2012.

Bethel Island MAC Objectives for 2013 The Bethel Island MAC priorities for 2013 will be to continue to be to provide the Bethel Island community with the opportunity to communicate with the various County Departments. We will work to schedule pertinent and informative speaker presentations at the monthly meetings. We will continue to work on items including: 1.) Reflective Address Signs 2.) Code Enforcement Priorities 3.) Dry Hydrants 4.) Outreach to the local mobile home parks 5.) Heart Safe Communities Program The Bethel Island MAC is scheduled to meet on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 6:00p.m. at the Bethel Island Municipal Improvement District Office located at 3085 Stone Road.
