APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee, to execute a contract
amendment, effective December 1, 2012, with the Pittsburg Power Company, for additional case management and
job placement services, increasing the contract amount by $150,000 for a total contract amount not to exceed
$245,000 and extend the term of the contract from January 31, 2013 to June 30, 2013.
FISCAL IMPACT:
$245,000; 100% Federal Workforce Investment Act (WIA) Adult Funding
BACKGROUND:
This Board Order will authorize the Employment and Human Services Department, on behalf of the Workforce
Development Board, to increase the contract payment limit to the Pittsburg Power Company by $150,000, from
$95,000 to a new contract payment limit of $245,000 and extend the contract term from January 31, 2013, to a new
contract term through June 30, 2013. The amendment will allow additional WIA Adult services including case
management, employment referrals, and job placement services for adult participants.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Without the extension of the contract term and increase in the total contract amount, additional adult participants will
not receive case management, employment referrals, and job placement services.
