HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 01082013 - C.124RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Purchasing Agent, on behalf of the Health Services Department, to execute a Change Order to Purchase Order #F35648 with Universal Hospital Services, Inc, from January 1, 2013 through December 31, 2014 to add $700,000, for a new total of $1,200,000, for the rental of medical devices at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Health Centers. FISCAL IMPACT: The total cost of $1,200,000 is funded by Enterprise Fund I BACKGROUND: Medical devices are periodically rented by Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers. By contracting with Universal Hospital Services, Inc (UHS), we lower costs and increase availability of rented medical devices. UHS is a Novation vendor, which means that through our Novation Group Purchasing Contract, UHS provides the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center discounted rates for their services.
