Subject:Novation Interagency Agreement #74–371–4 with Mt. Diablo Unified School District
BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
for children at Sunrise Elementary School and Olympic/Alliance High School, and their families.
On January 10, 2012, the Board of Supervisors approved Novation Interagency Agreement #74–371-3 with Mt.
Diablo Unified School District, for the period from July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2012, which included a six-month
automatic extension through December 31, 2012, for the provision of school-based mental health services to SED
students.
Approval of Novation Interagency Agreement #74–371–4 replaces the six-month automatic extension under the prior
Contract and allows the Agency to continue providing services through June 30, 2013.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this contract is not approved, SED children will have reduced access to treatment services and may require
placement at higher level of care, including hospitalization or residential care in Mt. Diablo Unified School District.
CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:
This school-based program supports the following Board of Supervisors’ community outcomes: “Children Ready For
and Succeeding in School”; “Families that are Safe, Stable, and Nurturing”; and “Communities that are Safe and
Provide a High Quality of Life for Children and Families”. Expected program outcomes include an increase in
positive social and emotional development as measured by the Child and Adolescent Functional Assessment Scale
(CAFAS).
