HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 01082013 - C.53RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE Appropriations and Revenue Adjustment No. 5040 to authorize increased revenue and appropriations in the amount of $24,300,000 in the Health Services Department from the Delivery System Reform Incentive Pool for full implementation of an electronic medical records system. FISCAL IMPACT: Increased appropriations and revenue in the amount of $24,300,000 in Medi-Cal Waiver funds from the Delivery System Reform Incentive Pool. No County match required. BACKGROUND: The Medi-Cal Wiaver created a five-year funding opportunity for public hospital that meet certain performance standards. The cornerstone to meeting the required performance standars is full implementation of an electronic medical record system. These funds have already been received and recorded by the County. The expenses are being incurred for the EPIC system. This appropriation will insure that revenue and expenses are properly accounted for. No County General funds are required. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: Revenue and expenses will not be properly accounted for and appropriations will not tie to acutal expenditures or funds received.
