HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 12112012 - C.78RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #26-644-8 with MGA Healthcare, Inc., a corporation, effective November 6, 2012, to amend Contract #26-644-6 (as amended by #26-644-7) to increase the total Contract Payment Limit by $80,000 from $330,000 to a new total payment of $410,000 with no change in the original term of January 1, 2012 through December 31, 2012. FISCAL IMPACT: This Amendment is funded 100% by Enterprise Fund I. No rate increase. BACKGROUND: On January 10, 2012, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-644-6 (as amended by Amendment Agreement #26-644-7) with MGA Healthcare, Inc. for the period from January 1, 2012 through December 31, 2012, for the provision of temporary pharmacy staff at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers to provide coverage during peak loads, temporary absences and emergencies. BACKGROUND: (CONT'D) of Contract Amendment Agreement #26-644-8 will allow the Contractor to provide additional temporary pharmacists and pharmacy technician services at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers, through December 31, 2012. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this amendment is not approved, Contra Costa Regional Medical and Contra Costa Health Centers would not have appropriate pharmacy coverage during temporary staff absences.
